how can I install sysvinit-tools in rocky linux 8?

Hi Felix,
sysvinit-tools is not provided for Rocky Linux and hasn't been part of EL since EL7. Most of the tools contained in that package can be found in util-linux, and some of the others can be found in procps-ng. Which util are you after?

I have to install because in Grid Computing I need it for cvmfs package and many more.
that is the message that I get:
dnf install cvmfs Last metadata expiration check: 2:18:01 ago on Fri 03 Nov 2023 12:55:31 AM EDT. Error: Problem: cannot install the best candidate for the job - nothing provides sysvinit-tools needed by cvmfs-2.9.4-1.el7.x86_64 (try to add '--skip-broken' to skip uninstallable packages or '--nobest' to use not only best candidate packages)

You are attempting to install a package that was built against EL7. This will not work for Rocky Linux 8. You need to install the correct cvms repository for EL8.
