I am using the latest AlmaLinux release 8.5 (Arctic Sphynx). I could not install "R" (a static package) and I have epel installed.
[[root@pow ~]# dnf install epel-release Last metadata expiration check: 1:33:18 ago on Tue 10 May 2022 06:41:51 AM PDT. Package epel-release-8-15.el8.noarch is already installed. Dependencies resolved. Nothing to do. Complete!
[root@pow ~]# dnf install R-4.1.3 Last metadata expiration check: 1:33:43 ago on Tue 10 May 2022 06:41:51 AM PDT.
